Festival Cement

Every year, Festival Cement treats you to a festival full of exciting performances. About 20 young makers from the Netherlands and Flanders show their work to a curious audience. In 2025, the festival will take place from May 26 to June 1 and not in March, as is usually the case.

In various places in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the public and professionals are looking at a new generation of performing artists. You can discover young makers and their themes, new forms, and alternative proposals for the future.

In addition to a program full of performances, there is plenty of room for the audience, makers and professionals to meet, enter into dialogue, and delve into the extensive context program.

Festival Cement takes place from May 26 to June 1

Please find Cements Language no Problem or English Spoken program below. If you have any questions or you want to visit the festival by group, please email us at info@festivalcement.nl

Workshop: stop-motion beweging

Mooni van Tichel

Moving like a stop-motion video. Mooni Van Tichel does it in her solo STILL RADIANT ALIVE, but during this dance workshop she'll teach it to you, too. Dance experience is not necessary!

From slow motion we build images and movements that work toward choreographic stop-motion. On a beat of 200 bpm we create an imaginary world full of superheroes. We fight, defend, fly, transform ... each developing our own superpower. What kind of actions belong to a body that can do anything? How do we relate to each other? Do we generate pleasure or resistance? Through stop-motion, we explore how to transform ourselves and our imaginations.

Dag Dramaturgie 2025

Lara Van Lookeren en Eylül Fidan Akinci

Bertolt Brecht once said that art is not a mirror held up to reality, but a hammer with which to shape it. Still, many theatre makers see their work as an honest reflection for those who are invisible or marginalised. So what should theatre be today: a mirror or a hammer? Should dramaturgy reflect reality, or can it question power and break through existing patterns? Or perhaps we need both?
