muffy girls
god my milk how to say
Step inside a whisper-quiet chapel, or is it perhaps a terribly noisy vegetable garden? In any case, there is a high chance of earth, milk and a bare breast. In this performative installation, you can discover your own mythology from the mythologies that the muffy girls give you.Stroll around the space and get to know the instinct, the milk giver, the camerawoman. Here you will find cinematic images of dancing in the mountains to rotting processes and texts such as “My grandma was a cow, my mother is a milkmaid” or “My milkshake brings all the boys to the lord”. Symbolism, motherhood, the body, anger, earth, cycles or none of these things - you can give meaning to this terrain yourself. You are only given this assignment:
(m_ountain ×d_(ance)× t_(ears)× f_(east)× g_(iggle))/(5 ×m_(uffy) g_(irl)) = 0 = ∞
or in words: (mountain multiplied by tears multiplied by dance multiplied by feast multiplied by giggle) divided by (5 multiplied by muffy girl) equals nothing, everything
About muffy girls:
The five-member collective muffy girls consists of Jente Jonkhoff, Laura Dreyer, Carice Boelm, Valerie Ludwig and Anna Lauryssen. All of them are studying or have studied at the Toneelacademie Maastricht as performers.
The muffy girls are a fusion of the bare souls of the creators. Sometimes they are a mammal with 10 arms, 10 legs and 1 intuition. Sometimes they are 5 girls. Sometimes they are not girls. And after 5 days together in the mountains, everything is damp and dirty, everything becomes clearer and muffier.
Please note: limited seating, you will experience the work best by walking through it.
